Maureen Murray Designer

I was born in Tucson, Arizona, studied art at the University of Arizona where I received my BFA degree in Graphic Design. Because I love sharing art with others, I went on to earn teaching credentials in Art Education from San Diego State University and in Special Education from San Francisco State University.

Visual Arts have always been the means for me to express myself, and travel and work have allowed me to sketch in some of the most beautiful places on Earth: the Grand Tetons, Lake Tahoe, Prince of Wales, Alaska, California, and Colorado. In the process, I developed a strong foundation in the details of nature and have incorporated this sensibility into commercial and educational design work.

Early in my career I worked as a designer for Harrah's Casino in Lake Tahoe, and the Giant's Baseball Club and Oakland Coliseum in the Bay Area creating advertisements, marquees, billboards, brochures, and promotional materials for entertainers, headline shows, and events. 10 years ago I began work for the GLOBE Program in Boulder, Colorado, and international science and education program founded by Al Gore. The program grew and is now operating in over 110 countries.

As the Senior Designer for The GLOBE Program, I was responsible for creating print and Web graphics for GLOBE's worldwide primary and secondary school-based science and education program that helps educators and scientists collaborate on projects around the dynamics of the Earth's environment.
